If this solution wasn’t what you needed, stay on the Pointer Control settings page you’ll need it for the next fix. For those who have trouble double-clicking quickly, you may want to drag the slider further to the left. A similar position to that shown in the image below is a solid option.

If there are trackpad driver issues or software bugs, updating to the most recent macOS version might fix it. It’s recommended to run the latest version of macOS on your MacBook for a smooth user experience.

Turn off Force Click and Haptic Feedback on Mac.Ensure built-in trackpad is enabled if using an external trackpad. Now restart the Mac version and accept the pop ups about which iPhone Number and Apple ID are in use on the iPhone. Is your MacBook trackpad not working properly or unresponsive? This may happen due to a few different reasons (including software glitches, fault settings, and more).ĭon’t worry, as long as it’s not a hardware issue, there are several easy ways to fix the problem and get your MacBook’s trackpad back on track. Then, on "restarting" the iPhone, check the iPhone Number has "Verified" with the iMessages server. Place in Airplane Mode to break with the server. On the iPhone > Settings > Messages removes the Apple ID

In some cases it pays to reset the iPhone and then Restart the Mac end and accept the pop ups.

Hopefully this might explain some of what you are seeing. If I remember correctly the iPhone can have both Apple ID and iPhone number but the Mac does not see the iMessages sent to the iPhone number whereas the iPhone will display both. On versions of the iOS before this tend to be a bit one way. This does of course presume the Apple ID is on the iPhone and that the pop ups on the Mac saying which number and ID the iPhone is using have been Accepted. It is when both are at these required Levels that the Mac will "see" (display) both iPhone Number and Apple ID iMessages as will the iPhone.

I cannot specifically comment on iOS 5.1.1 and the Messages app on that version of the iOS but the full "sync" that Apple talks about does need an iPhone that can do at least iOS 6.0.2Īt that point the Mac OS needs to be at 10.8.2 as well.

(Sorry for the ramble.) Have others found wonky behavior in the Messages App with regard to receiving iMessages SINCE the 10.9.2 upgrade? Nothing has worked, and I still cannot reliably receive iMessages in the Messages app. Much of what has been done with Apple Support seems to have been related to adjusting iCloud settings (e.g., using different email addresses for my Apple/iCloud ID, etc.). I have spent about 2 hours over the past 24 hours talking with Apple Support and we've changed/adjusted all manner of factors in Messages, iMessage, on both phones, etc. I don't know if any of this makes much sense. Whatever is sent to me is ALWAYS received on my iPhone (which is logged into my iCloud account). ALSO, when the iMessage user sends me a message that IS NOT received in Messages (even though it IS received on my iPhone), they see a "Not Delivered" error message on their phone.Īgain, just to emphasize, this problem seems to reside in Messages app on my Macbook Pro, because that is where messages eratically appear (or don't appear). I should note that these problems come related to messages being sent by the same iMessage user (it's not been long enough - or I'm not a heavy enough Messages user - to experience how this same iMessage/Messages interaction works when receiving from many other iMessage users). Other times, I get the photos, but not text-based messages. Sometimes I see text-only messages, but cannot receive iMessaged photos. Most often, I see nothing on my Messages conversation panel. The problem that I've been experiencing since the upgrade to 10.9.2 is that when an iPhone sends me an iMessage, that iMessage is eratically received by Messages. I'm not sure what thait23 means by "not working", but perhaps it's the same problem that I'm experiencing.and I'm wondering if others might be as well. I just came to post about problems with the Messages app (on my Macbook Pro) not properly receiving iMessages since the upgrade to 10.9.2.
